WE ARE SO IN LOVE WITH: keane

Keane's following always felt a tad too Colin&Edith for our liking, but we got over ourselves and decided to love them for the talented melody makers that they are.

We haven't heard any of the new album Under The Iron Sea, of which the cover artwork is lovely and will no doubt send all the textile students of Britain into a maritime frenzy, but first single Is It Any Wonder is quite superb. We borrowed Hopes And Fears from our friend Rachel's boyfriend and ripped it onto our iPod, but we think we'll actually buy this one! From the shops! With our own money! How very retro.

WHAT KIND OF A NAME IS: gnarls

Ok so the song is a bit 'done', but the excellent video for Gnarls Barkley's Crazy really breathes a kiss of class onto this overplayed rhyme. Dear, that sounds quite wanky doesn't it. Click here to see it.

MISH MASH: woolworths are on to something

When Woolworths' Single Of The Week tried to flog this as "THE NEW GOLDFRAPP/SCISSOR SISTERS OHMYGOD YOU WILL LOVE IT BECAUSE IT'S SO FAB etc", we made a point to ignore it for weeks and weeks and thought "no it's not fab at all it is in fact crap!". And then a few days ago we stopped whatever it was that we were doing in the office, turned the volume up and danced around like a gay. What to? But to Mish Mash's Speechless, of course! Why? Because it is fab! BBBBUUUUYYYYY IIIIITTTTT.

VADGE: cheap and cheerful!

Did you hear? Vadge is touring the world!! Offering her fans an unforgettable spectacle for a mere 7 thousand pounds per ticket!

We considered getting up early to join the busy Ticketmasters phoneline queues, but we were a little bit tired and poor so we thought we'd sleep instead. "Let's just buy the dvd when it comes out! Wait, isn't that what we said about the Re-Invention Tour? When's that coming out?" etc.

SIOBHAN DONAGHY: crime of passion

Right, so we've only just been released from our quite frankly obsessive listening of Siobhan's new song on MySpace, and there she goes and posts another one! It is called Crime Of Passion and is availabale on 'myspace.com/ jonyrockstar' and is partially about egg mayonnaise lunches! Fantastic. Don't Give It Up, as we have been informed by the lady herself, is an album-track and will not be released as a single. Here's to hoping Parlophone (check her out - bagging the big boys! ooh! etc) will find a fair compromise between art and finances in choosing her first single... just so she can go global and we can entertain future party-guests with our gift for early pop talent spotting!
